A Japanese neurologist studied 300 elderly people with exceptional memory. No dementia. No cognitive decline. From 2011 to 2019, Dr. Hiroshi Tanaka observed patients over the age of 80 at a geriatric center in Kyoto. Despite their age, their memory remained sharp. They showed excellent recall, fast thinking, clear speech, and preserved everyday functioning. Tanaka initially believed the reason was genetics. He was wrong. Diet was not the factor. Physical activity varied. Sleep patterns differed.
