I will happily quench a lot of my work straight after heating it and rarely encounter a problem. BUT when it comes to bezel settings and larger pieces which involve more silver or more work time, I’m a bit more risk-averse and will ALWAYS allow them to cool before quenching and pickling. They come in a range of different grits and a huge assortment of shapes and sizes too - and have a 2.34mm shank to fit most rotary tools. I love using these cylinder ones for polishing and refining the inside of bezel settings as the flat base means they don’t leave visible lines or marks.
