Waiting for a soldered bezel setting to cool! ⚒️ Do you do this too? When it comes to soldering silver, many jewellers will differ in opinion on the importance of allowing it to cool before quenching. I will happily quench a lot of my work straight after heating it and rarely encounter a problem. BUT when it comes to bezel settings and larger pieces which involve more silver or more work time, I’m a bit more risk-averse and will ALWAYS allow them to cool before quenching and pickling. Too sudden

The quickest method I’ve found to get an even border around a bezel setting is to take a piece of scrap wire and simply hold it in place between the bezel wall and a pen as you draw around the whole thing.
