Spinning is a form of stimming. Adam doesn’t do it as much as some other autistic kids. They can spin for a long period of time and not feel dizzy at all. It’s amazing just like a ballet dancer doing her spin. But for me, goodness gracious, when Adam took me on a little spin, I wasn’t able to open my eyes for some 5 minutes after that. My son was absolutely fine. He continued stimming shortly after he retired daddy. Let me know if your autistic child spin as well in the comments below. #adamsaut

🤔 Why do some autistic kids spin? Quick explanation right here 👇 For many autistic kids, spinning is a type of “stimming” (self-stimulatory behavior)—a body-based way to regulate (help their nervous system feel calmer, more organized, or more focused). In our house, I try to read it like communication, not “misbehavior.” Spinning can show up when my son is: ✔️ excited or joyful ✔️ overwhelmed or stressed ✔️ seeking sensory input (movement helps!) ✔️ trying to reset his body after a big moment

Spinning, a common repetitive behavior or stim, is sometimes seen in individuals with autism. It can serve as a self-regulating mechanism, providing sensory input and a sense of control in overwhelming environments for some individuals. 📽: @fishingforautism . . . #autism #autismcommunity #autismawareness #autismsupportandawareness #autistic #neurodiversity #inclusion #stim #stimming #sensoryplay #sensoryinput #spinning #autismfamily | Single Parents Of Children With Autism

✨ Ever wonder why spinning objects captivate autistic kids? 🌀 It's all about sensory magic! For many children on the spectrum, spinning provides a calming oasis in a world of sensory overload. Here's why spinning objects might be soothing for some autistic children: 1. Sensory Input: Spinning objects provide a unique sensory experience through visual and vestibular stimulation. The movement can help regulate sensory processing and promote a sense of calmness. 2. Self-Stimulation: Autistic child

What is autistic spinning? Spinning is a self-simulatory behavior, also known as a stim, which helps the offset person self-regulate. Autistic people may either spin themselves or spend other objects. Spinning is a vestibular stim, which activates the vestibular system. Spinning one’s own body may present as full body spinning, only spinning their head, or spending certain body parts such as hands, arms, or legs. Autistic children may enjoy sitting in a chair and being spun as quickly as possibl

Autistic spinning is a self-stimulatory behavior, or stim for short. It helps children on the spectrum self-regulate. Children who spin are stimulating their vestibular system. This sensory system helps with our sense of balance, coordination, movement, and spatial orientation. #autism #autismawareness #autismacceptance #autismsupport #autismjourney #autismfamily #parenting #praying #prayerworks #virals #viralreelsシ #viralreelsfb #viralshorts #trendingreelsvideo #trendingreels #trendingvideo #tr

Why do children with autism spin around? Many children with autism seek sensory information or experiences from the environment (due to feeling under-stimulated). They may also use spinning and jumping as a way of regulating themselves (i.e.: when they are stressed, anxious, or overwhelmed). Why do autistic children spin around? Many autistic people use repeated movements like hand flapping or spinning, and/or repeated behaviours for sensory stimulation, to keep calm or to express joy. This is an example of one of the core characteristics of autism needed for a diagnosis. (NAS 2025) One of the early signs we had in Huxley was his obsessions with spinning objects, walking round in circles and flapping. He still spins every single day. Sometimes for ages!! #fyp #autismawareness #autistictoddler #spinning #selfregulation

These behaviors can include hand flapping, rocking back and forth, spinning, or making repetitive sounds or vocalizations. Stimming serves different purposes for different individuals. It can help regulate sensory input, provide a sense of comfort, alleviate anxiety, or express excitement or joy ❤️ Some indiv
